How to take NMN: timing, food and format

By Mathew Stuckey · Updated · 1 min read

Take NMN at the dose on the label, at the same time every day, with water. For our Pure NMN that is one 500mg capsule a day, with or without food. No trial has shown a best time of day, so morning or evening is your choice: pick the one you will keep to.

How many capsules to take, by product

Product Daily dose With food? A pack lasts
Pure NMN 500mg 1 capsule (500mg NMN) Optional 30 to 180 days, by pack size
NMN Complex 3 capsules (500mg NMN, 600mg TMG and more) Optional 30 days

Do not take more than the dose on the label. For the doses used in every human trial, what EFSA assessed in 2026 and how much David Sinclair says he takes, see our NMN dosage guide.

Is it better to take NMN in the morning or the evening?

Nobody has shown that it matters. The trials gave NMN at a set time for convenience, not to compare times. I take mine first thing because that is when I remember. If evenings suit you better, take it then. Missing doses matters more than the hour you take them.

Capsules or powder?

Capsules Powder
Dose Exact, 500mg every time You measure it, and 500mg is a very small scoop
Taste None Slightly bitter in water
Storage Sealed until you swallow it The tub is opened every day
Best for Most people People who want to split doses finely

We sell capsules because they give the same dose every day with no measuring. Ours is an acid-resistant, plant-based HPMC capsule with nothing else inside but NMN.

Taking NMN with medication or other supplements

If you take levothyroxine, keep it first thing on its own and take NMN later. For other medicines, our guide to NMN and medication covers the NHS advice for each one, and our stacking guide covers creatine, CoQ10, vitamin D and the rest.
