Is NMN worth it? An honest answer from someone who sells it
On this page
Whether NMN is worth it depends on what you expect. Our Pure NMN costs from £178 a year. There are 23 published human trials, most of them small and none longer than 24 weeks. And no seller in the UK, including me, can legally tell you what NMN does in your body. If you need a seller to promise you results, it isn’t worth it. If you have read the research yourself and around £15 a month fits your budget, it can be.

How much does NMN cost a year?

|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month (30 capsules) | £19.99 | 67p | £239.88 |
| 3 months (90 capsules) | £49.99 | 56p | £199.96 |

That is one 500mg capsule a day. NMN Complex, which adds TMG, resveratrol and other ingredients, is £34.99 a month, or £425.88 a year. Pure NMN vs NMN Complex compares the two.
What does the research on NMN show?
Our NMN trials tracker lists every published human trial we could find, with the dose, the number of people and what was measured. There are 23. The largest had 108 people and the longest ran for 24 weeks. That is a small amount of research for something people take for years.
I’m not allowed to summarise what those trials found about the body. You can read each paper from the tracker and make up your own mind, which is what I would do anyway.
Why can’t any UK seller tell you what NMN does?
Health claims on food supplements have to be authorised, and none have been authorised for NMN in Great Britain. That covers product pages, adverts, blog posts and customer reviews used in marketing. If a UK seller tells you what NMN does in your body, they are breaking the rules. Our guide to red flags in NMN marketing shows what to look out for, and UK NMN regulations explains where NMN stands legally.
Who shouldn’t buy NMN?
- Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18.
- Anyone on prescription medicine who hasn’t checked with their GP or pharmacist. Our Can I take NMN with…? checker covers 58 medicines, supplements and foods.
- Anyone whose budget is tight. The NHS advises everyone in the UK to consider a vitamin D supplement in autumn and winter, and that costs pennies a day.
- Anyone who wants a product with a UK authorisation today. NR, a closely related compound, has one, and NMN vs NR compares them.
Can you get NMN from food instead?
Not in useful amounts. The richest food measured, edamame, had at most 1.88mg in 100g, so 500mg would take at least 27kg. How much NMN is in food has the figures for every food tested.
Who buys NMN from us?
Most of the emails I get are from people who have already read the research. They ask about testing, dose and price, not about results. That is the right way round. We publish our laboratory certificates, sell one strength of NMN, and tell you the price per day.
How to try NMN without overcommitting
Buy one month first, at £19.99. If you decide to carry on, the 6 month pack brings it down to 49p a day. If you take other supplements, our longevity supplement routine shows how NMN fits alongside them at different budgets.
