Can I take NMN with other supplements?
Vitamins, minerals and other supplements people take alongside NMN.
Can I take NMN with creatine?
No known interaction
Yes. No study has reported a problem with taking NMN and creatine together, and they share no ingredients. A common routine is 3 to 5g of creatine a day with one 500mg Pure NMN capsule.
How to take them: Same time is fine. You don't need to space them apart.
Yes. No interaction has been reported, and you can take them at the same time. Marine collagen is made from fish, so it is not suitable if you have a fish allergy.
How to take them: Our Marine Collagen is a 10g scoop of powder. Mix it into a drink and take your NMN capsule alongside.
Yes. No interaction has been reported. The NHS says 400mg or less of magnesium a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm. Our Magnesium Complex gives 375mg in 3 capsules, so count any magnesium in a multivitamin too.
How to take them: Magnesium with a meal. NMN at any time.
Yes. No interaction has been reported. The NHS says not to take more than 100 micrograms (4,000 IU) of vitamin D a day. Our D3 and K2 gives 75 micrograms of D3 and 100 micrograms of K2, so check a multivitamin doesn't take you over the limit.
How to take them: With a meal. If you take warfarin, vitamin K affects how it works, so speak to your anticoagulant clinic before taking any K2.
Yes. No interaction has been reported. NMN Complex contains 150 micrograms (0.15mg) of B12 a day. The NHS says 2mg or less of B12 a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm.
How to take them: Add up B12 from the Complex, any B complex and any multivitamin.
Yes. NMN is not a vitamin and doesn't appear in multivitamins. Check the label for vitamin D, B12, niacin and magnesium so you don't double up with other supplements you take.
How to take them: Any time. A multivitamin is usually taken with breakfast.
No study has tested NMN with vitamin C, and no problem has been reported. The NHS says taking less than 1,000mg of vitamin C a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm.
No study has tested NMN with zinc, and no problem has been reported. The NHS says 25mg or less of zinc a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm.
How to take them: Zinc can upset an empty stomach, so many people take it with food.
NMN is not an authorised form of niacin in Great Britain, so it isn't counted as niacin on a label. No interaction has been reported. The NHS says 17mg or less of nicotinic acid, or 500mg or less of nicotinamide, a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm.
How to take them: Check how much niacin your multivitamin already gives you.
No study has tested NMN with fish oil, and no problem has been reported. Fish oil is not suitable if you have a fish allergy. If you take a blood thinner, tell your clinic about any fish oil you take.
How to take them: Fish oil with a meal. NMN at any time.
No study has tested NMN with krill oil, and no problem has been reported. Krill is a shellfish, so krill oil is not suitable if you have a shellfish allergy. If you take a blood thinner, tell your clinic.
How to take them: Krill oil with a meal. NMN at any time.
No study has tested NMN with alpha lipoic acid, and no problem has been reported. Our ALA is a 300mg capsule. If you take any prescription medicine, ask a pharmacist before adding it.
How to take them: Same day is fine. Follow the ALA label for timing.
Pure NMN and NMN Complex each give 500mg NMN a day. Taking both, or two NMN brands, doubles your NMN to 1,000mg a day, which is more than either label says.
How to take them: Pick one product and follow its label.
No interaction with NMN has been reported. The NHS warns that St John's wort interferes with many prescription medicines, including warfarin, the contraceptive pill and antidepressants.
How to take them: If you take any prescription medicine, don't take St John's wort without speaking to your GP.
No study has tested NMN with turmeric, and no problem has been reported. If you take warfarin or another blood thinner, ask your clinic before starting turmeric.
No study has tested NMN with spermidine, and no problem has been reported. Some spermidine supplements are made from wheat germ, so check the label if you avoid gluten.
How to take them: Start one new supplement at a time, so you know how each one suits you.
No published human trial has tested NMN alongside any prescription medicine. These answers say what is known and who to ask.
Can I take NMN with levothyroxine?
Ask your GP or pharmacist first
No human trial has tested NMN with levothyroxine. The NHS says to take levothyroxine on an empty stomach, 30 to 60 minutes before food or caffeine, and that some supplements such as calcium and iron can stop it working properly.
How to take them: Keep levothyroxine on its own first thing. Take NMN later, for example with lunch, and ask your pharmacist about spacing.
No human trial has tested NMN with warfarin. The NHS says not to take St John's wort or vitamin K supplements with warfarin without speaking to your clinic. Pure NMN and NMN Complex contain no vitamin K. NMN Complex contains resveratrol, pterostilbene and quercetin.
How to take them: Speak to your anticoagulant clinic before starting, and give them the full ingredient list.
No human trial has tested NMN with apixaban, rivaroxaban or similar blood thinners. The NHS names St John's wort as a supplement to avoid with apixaban.
How to take them: Tell your GP or pharmacist before you start, and show them the label.
No human trial has tested NMN with statins. One NMN trial of 90 adults (NCT04823260) excluded people taking statins. NMN is a different compound from the nicotinic acid used in niacin and statin studies, so their results don't transfer to it.
No human trial has tested NMN with antibiotics. Some antibiotics shouldn't be taken at the same time as minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium or zinc.
How to take them: Ask the pharmacist who gives you the antibiotic about any supplements you take.
No study has looked at NMN around surgery. Hospitals ask you to list every supplement you take before an operation, and may ask you to stop some beforehand.
How to take them: Tell your surgical team you take NMN and follow what they say.
Human trials gave NMN every day, at 250 to 2,000mg, for up to about 24 weeks. A 2026 review of 10 trials found side effects were no more common than with a placebo. No trial has run for longer than about 6 months.
How to take them: Pure NMN is one 500mg capsule a day. Don't take more than the label says.
We haven't covered that one yet. Ask us and we'll add it, or ask a pharmacist, who can check it against anything you take.
Example day
How to fit NMN around other supplements
An example of how the timings above fit into one day. Only take what you need, and follow your own medicine instructions first.
First thing
Prescription medicines that need an empty stomach
For example levothyroxine, 30 to 60 minutes before food or coffee.
Breakfast
NMN, creatine, collagen
NMN works with or without food, so breakfast is an easy time to remember it.
Main meal
CoQ10, vitamin D3 and K2, krill or fish oil, magnesium
These are usually taken with food, and the oils with a meal that has some fat.
Between meals
NAC
NAC is usually taken away from food, once or twice a day.
Our NMN
NMN is classed as a novel food in Great Britain, and an application is being assessed by the Food Standards Agency. Our products are food supplements, not medicines. This page is general information, not medical advice. If you have a health condition, are pregnant or take medication, speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking any supplement.
Questions about taking NMN with other things
What can you not take with NMN?
No combination has been reported to cause harm, but three things are not worth doubling up on: NR, NAD+ supplements and a second NMN product, because they are sold for the same reason. Don't take NMN while pregnant, trying to conceive or under 18. If you take prescription medicine, avoid St John's wort, which the NHS says interferes with many medicines.
Can I take NMN with my prescription medication?
No published human trial has tested NMN alongside any prescription medicine, so nobody can tell you it is proven safe with yours. Show the label to your GP or pharmacist before you start. Our guide to NMN and common medications covers levothyroxine, warfarin, statins, metformin and more.
Can I take NMN with other supplements?
Yes, NMN is commonly taken with creatine, CoQ10, collagen, magnesium and vitamin D. No interaction has been reported with any of them. Check for overlap if you take NMN Complex, which already contains TMG, resveratrol, pterostilbene, quercetin and vitamin B12.
Should NMN be taken with food?
NMN can be taken with or without food. Choose a time you will remember every day. Our guide to when to take NMN covers morning and evening.
How should I add NMN to supplements I already take?
Add one new supplement at a time and keep everything else the same for a couple of weeks, so you know how each one suits you. Two daily slots, such as breakfast and your main meal, are easier to stick to than five.
